The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan held working meetings with the representatives of the education and health sectors of our country.
The specialists of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, as well as the Ministry of Education together with international experts discussed the measures provided for in the National Strategy for the Early Development of Children in Turkmenistan for 2020-2025.
This document, approved by the Decree of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on December 6, 2019, was developed taking into account the key aspects of the state policy in this area, the main provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and other regulatory legal acts.
The parties emphasized the importance of holding regular working meetings, trainings and seminars, promoting the productive exchange of experience and new scientific developments in this area.
As noted, cooperation with UNICEF contributes to the development of an action plan for the implementation of the above-mentioned National Strategy. Within its framework, Turkmen specialists introduce new methods in the field of early development and improve the work of preschool institutions.
During the online meeting, which was held with the participation of specialists from the Ministry of Education, health-improving and educational complex of Ashgabat, a UNICEF expert, the issues of implementing the 2020 plan for the development of children with disabilities, providing them with high-quality educational services were also discussed.
The participants in the working meetings called for the continuation of a mutually beneficial exchange of views on health promotion and comprehensive development of the young generation.
