Turkmenistan is finishing the construction of the new road bridge over the Tejen River at the Serahs–Serahs checkpoint along the Turkmenistan–Iran border. This has been reported by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan in charge of transport and communication, D.Amangeldiyev, at the cabinet session.
The Vice-Premier’s report states that the bridge is 96 meters long and 15.1 meters wide. The installation’s throughput capacity is 2 thousand vehicles per day. The construction works at this site have reached the final stage.
Capital repairs have also been done at the 105-km long Tejen–Serahs highway leading to the new bridge.
The commissioning of these facilities will boost trade turnover between the two neighboring states and help increase the number of regular international hauls.
Following the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the high level of commercial and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Iran. The head of state stressed that the transport routes between the two countries provide favorable conditions for intensification of the effective partnership in various spheres.
