On November 26, in the framework of the Ashgabat Global Sustainable Transport Conference, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov met with the guest of honor - Karlheinz Kopf, the Joint Acting President as Second President of the National Council of the Republic of Austria.
At the meeting, which was held in a constructive key, the President and his guest gave consideration to the implementation progress of the previously reached agreements and exchanged views on some issues of interstate cooperation, successfully built in the bilateral and multilateral formats with major international organizations and reputable agencies, including the UN, the OSCE, the EU, etc.
Along with the business contacts, much attention was given to the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian relations. A tangible evidence of it are the by-now traditional the Vienna Ball in Ashgabat, joint concerts, performances of Turkmen musicians in the best concert halls in the Austrian capital, presentations, creative meetings and other cultural events. Within the frames of furthering the humanitarian dialogue, the proposals were voiced on the opportunity of getting education by Turkmen students in the Austrian universities.
Great prospects open up for partnership in the tourism industry, especially referring to the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone on the Caspian Sea coast with its developed recreation infrastructure and its future-oriented redevelopment plans.
During the meeting, the interlocutors exchange opinions on a number of interest-based issues of regional and international policy.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria in Turkmenistan Gerhard Sailler.
