On November 25, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin.
After expressing his gratitude to the Turkmen President for the personal audience, the guest, who had arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the Global Sustainable Transport Conference, conveyed warm words of greetings and best wishes to the head of state from the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and Prime Minister of the country Bakytzhan Sagintayev.
In the course of meeting, highlighting a progressive character of the Turkmen-Kazakh dialogue in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields, the head of state and his guest have acknowledged availability of the considerable many-faceted potential for closer bilateral cooperation and diversification of its trends.
During the lively exchange of opinions, special consideration was given to the Global Conference agenda, which includes a broad range of issues of cooperation in such a strategic sector as transport. In this regard, implementation of the project due to the integrated efforts of neighbor countries – construction of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway, an important part of the international “North-South” transport corridor – is an illustrative example.
In this context, the parties stressed the importance of developing well-balanced approaches to tackling the urgent task of building the extensive multimodal transport infrastructure as a basis for the interest-based long-term cooperation and sustainable development on the regional and global scale.
In conclusion, the nation’s leader and his guest confirmed Turkmenistan’s and Kazakhstan’s unwavering commitment to the relations of friendship and fruitful cooperation based on the two countries’ goodwill and fast-developing in the bilateral and multilateral formats.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan O. Nurbayev.
