M. Artykov was given relevant commissions on improvement of Kopetdag etrap, reconstruction of facilities, dwelling houses, and roads.
Then, Director of the State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan Ya. Kakaev (invited to the session) reported on this year’s three-month activity of the institution, as well as the measures taken to intensify international cooperation in the fuel and energy sector.
The head of state was also informed about the preparations for the upcoming regular meeting of the International Expert Group for working out a comprehensive international legal document, regulating a collection of rights and obligations of producers, transit countries and consumers of energy resources, to be held in Brussels, the capital of Belgium on April 22.
Summarizing the report, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov confirmed neutral Turkmenistan’s adherence to broad mutually beneficial international cooperation, having stressed that our country would continue to hold active position on working out well-balanced solutions to the burning issues of today.
As the head of state said, Turkmenistan, as one of the world’s top energy producing countries, is seeking to place its enormous resource potential for the benefit of all mankind, to this end, our country takes concrete steps and pursues a policy in this sphere, based on all-round modernization of the fuel and energy complex, and diversified transportation of energy resources to the world markets.
Expanding fruitful cooperation with all interested foreign partners in the fuel and energy sector, the leader of nation noted, Turkmenistan regularly launches initiatives to hold important representative forums, which Ashgabat has already hosted several times. Among them are last year’s Energy Charter Forum and first meeting of the Expert Group for working out a new international legal document aimed to regulate a legal basis of reliability and safety of energy resources transportation to the world markets. The consultative meetings have become an efficient platform for discussing key aspects of partnership in the strategic sphere.
In this context, the head of state gave the Director of the State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan a number of assignments on further promoting our country’s international initiatives on ensuring global energy security as an important factor of universal well-being and progress.
