Last week, an Agreement on the exchange of information between the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) and the Azerbaijan State Information Agency (AzerTaj) was signed in the capital of Azerbaijan. A similar Agreement was signed between TDH and the International News Agency of Azerbaijan (Trend).
In accordance with the agreements, the sides will regularly exchange the latest information and analytical materials on political, economic, social and cultural-humanitarian life of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, as well as photographs and videos.
Speaking of expansion of the scope of activities of the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan, it should be noted that in the context of the tasks assigned by the nation’s leader Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov on improving the work of TDH, structural reforms are implemented in the agency with introduction of new technologies. A video news department has been created recently. The agency’s specialists also deal with designing, technical and information support, as well as promotion of the national Internet sites about socio-political, economic, cultural life of Turkmenistan. Another new product – a site in the Turkmen, English and Russian languages is ready to be launched into cyberspace. It is devoted to the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and announcement of 2015 - Year of Neutrality and Peace.
Returning to the event that took place in Baku, Trend Agency is an independent media outlet, founded in 1995 and is a leading news provider in Southern Caucasus and the Caspian Sea Region. The agency daily offers news in five languages – Azerbaijani, Russian, English, Farsi and Arabic, as well as analytical reports and multimedia materials.
AzerTaj is the very first national news agency of Azerbaijan, which was founded in 1920. Today, it provides round-the-clock news in six languages – Azerbaijani, English, Russian, French, German and Arabic – updates on the socio-political, cultural, medical, sporting, ecological and other spheres of the country. AzerTaj is a member of the Organization of Asian-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) and the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA).
